As part of the Türkiye–EU Business Dialogue (TEBD II) project, the EU–Türkiye High-Level Business Dialogue (HLBD) took place on 2 July 2026 in Istanbul. Co-organised by Eurochambres and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), in support to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye, the meeting brought together European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Eurochambres CEO Ben Butters, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, leading business representatives, and international financial institutions to discuss strategies for deepening economic and investment cooperation in light of global supply chain and energy dynamics.
The Business Dialogue was held immediately following the broader EU–Türkiye High-Level Economic Dialogue (HLED), jointly organised by the European Commission and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye, underscoring the shared commitment to structured and continuous institutional engagement.
Highlighting the imperative of translating political dialogue into tangible results for the business community, Eurochambres CEO Ben Butters stated:
“By focusing on shared goals such as innovation, regulatory simplification, connectivity, and sustainable growth, we can strengthen economic ties and open new opportunities for companies in both markets.”
