Who We Are
TEBD II builds a bridge between Türkiye and the European Union’s business communities, fostering dialogue, cooperation, and sustainable growth. It aims to create strong ties and long-term partnerships on the path towards a shared future.
The Türkiye-EU Business Dialogue II (TEBD II) is the successor of the precedent TEBD project and is funded by the European Union. It is implemented by Eurochambres, in close partnership with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB – also a member of Eurochambres), on behalf of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye as contracting authority. Building on this established cooperation, TEBD II continues the joint efforts of Eurochambres and TOBB to strengthen economic ties, foster mutual understanding, and promote sustainable growth between the European Union and Türkiye.
Chambers both in Türkiye and in the European Union (EU) have a key role to play in fostering closer economic cooperation, supporting business communities, and contributing to the advancement of Türkiye’s EU accession process. By providing platforms for dialogue, cooperation, and exchange of good practices, TEBD II helps bring Turkish Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Commodity Exchanges closer together with their EU counterparts.
Implemented over a period of 36 months, from 2024 to 2027, the project aims to promote stronger integration of the EU and Turkish business communities, while also raising awareness of both the opportunities and the challenges related to a potential future accession of Türkiye to the EU and the modernization of the Customs Union between Türkiye and the EU.
The TEBD II project has two main objectives:
Strengthening Cooperation
Improving collaboration between EU and Turkish chambers and business communities, fostering long-term partnerships, mutual trust, and closer economic ties.
Building Capacity for Sustainability
Raising awareness and enhancing the capacity of chambers and business communities on green economy opportunities, sustainability policies, and their effective implementation.
To achieve these goals, the project is structured around three main axes:
Cooperation Activities
Cooperation activities between Turkish and EU chambers and business communities, including High Level Business Dialogues, surveys, and workshops organised both in the EU and in Türkiye.
Capacity Building Activities
Capacity-building programmes for Turkish and EU chambers, including the organisation of Chambers Academies, study visits, and various support actions designed to strengthen institutional know-how and skills.
EU–Türkiye Chambers Partnership Grant Scheme
Support to the EU–Türkiye Chambers Partnership Grant Scheme, a financial support mechanism provided by the EU to foster joint projects and sustainable partnerships between chambers in the EU and Türkiye.
Through these activities, TEBD II not only enhances dialogue and cooperation between chambers but also contributes to building a stronger, greener, and more competitive business environment in both Türkiye and the European Union.
