On 7 March 2025, the first SME Workshop under the TEBD II project took place at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry in Valletta. The event brought together Turkish and Maltese business representatives to explore new opportunities for collaboration and trade. This was the first of five SME Workshops to be organised in EU member states as part of the TEBD II project. Additionally, 35 similar workshops will take place across Türkiye, led by local, regional, or national chambers.
These workshops aim to raise awareness on EU–Türkiye economic and trade relations, funding opportunities under EU programmes, and partnership building. Each workshop targets around 15 SMEs, combining presentations with interactive discussions and policy reflections. The Malta workshop focused on opportunities for growth and enhancing bilateral business ties. Future workshops will address topics such as the EU Green Deal, Customs Union modernization, digitalization, and circular economy.
Local chambers play a key role in identifying relevant themes based on regional business needs.
