From 20 to 22 October 2026, 13 representatives of EU Chambers of Commerce travelled to Gaziantep for a study visit organised by Eurochambres under the TEBD II project, and hosted by the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce with the support of TOBB.

The three-day programme explored how gastronomy and craftsmanship can support local economic development, skills development, sustainability and international trade. Participants visited heritage and craft venues, including the Mosaic School and the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, and spent a full day at the Gaziantep Gastronomy Academy, where they learned about Protected Geographical Indications and “farm to fork” food ecosystems, and took part in a zero-waste cooking workshop. Sessions with the Gaziantep Commodity Exchange, Chamber of Industry and Chamber of Commerce covered the organisation of the local agri-food sector and EU and Turkish rules for food trade. Guided tours of the Bey District and the Old Antep District, the historic craftsmanship core of the city, completed the programme.

The visit concluded with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Gaziantep EU Information Center, supported by the EU Delegation to Türkiye.

By combining institutional dialogue, hands-on experiences and networking, the study visit contributed to stronger EU–Türkiye business relations under the TEBD II framework.

Eurochambres would like to thank the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, TOBB and all hosts, speakers and participating chambers for their hospitality and engagement.
